MGC offers a full engineering design service from concept to production. The design service includes software, hardware, PCB layout, RF and antenna layout and industrial product design. However, our service doesn’t end there, as we can offer accurate prototyping, cost effective component sourcing and even identify manufacturing partners to make your product a reality.
One area of particular expertise is the design of low power RF systems. For short range communications we use Chipcon transceivers combined with our custom baseband stack developed for the MSP430. This provides frequency hopping, auto power levelling, error correction, 128 bit encryption and is fully adaptable to meet the system requirements for parameters such as battery life, transmission range, reporting frequency and number of devices.
MGC are specialists in the design of systems interfacing with various standard wireless modules providing GSM/GPRS, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity. These designs are optimized to minimize power consumption. Our software solutions not only provide firmware stacks with TCP/IP functionality, HCI level Bluetooth comms and standard NMEA decoding, but PC application software for the end user.
